W16-Round table, Choi U-Ram-SR

For the Hyundai Motor Series 2022 artist Choi U-Ram showed his work that uses high level technology and programming.

This caught my eye because at first it is nowhere near the level of advancement compared to other fine arts. "round Table" explores technological experimentation and questions human existence.

"Round table" is an installation that has 18 headless straw figures trying to claim the "ball" which is its head. as each figure tries to claim it it gets far away from the other bodies making it a game of no win situation.

On top of the sculpture is three large black birds and it is said to represent the upper class looking down on the working class.

This concept and the visuals interest me for this project because it focuses on human activities that would be considered normal. It talks about each individual wanting something but balancing it out because so does everyone else.

When I looked into the saying The nail that sticks out gets hammered I found this similar because the motion it self performed by every straw person is the same trying to claim something.

The repetitive figures and the motion is something Id like to look into in my project. And the simplicity of the project allows many view points which I appreciate.
