W12-The Coded-SR

The coded is a company with little financial profit. But that doesn't mean they don't have profits. They say that there is a new way of understanding Profit. Profit as an emotional credit rather than money, if it helps somebody that is profit to them. The coded supports factories that are ethical and they act as a middle man to produce clothes that are made from unused resources to give more financial freedom to the factories. One of their biggest push is to make consumers aware of the harm the fashion/ design industries create and make sure less things unnecessary things are bought.

They push transparency of companies before sustainability. they also teach conscious buying.

My biggest takeaway from this is how much transparency is important to bring customers. With more transparency it comes with more responsibility to keep up but I believe that these should e the new standards companies should be viewed under.

I still am unsure about cutting out designs and making less. I feel that as a student who is studying design it is a weird feeling to be told on a collaborative project that less designs are needed and I felt that it took away from our value as a creative.
